If you are looking for a luxury resort that offers the perfect balance between relaxation and adventure, we highly recommend Atelier Playa Mujeres.

In 2021 we stayed at this adults-only all-inclusive resort for five nights and had a fantastic time enjoying the beautiful weather, delicious food and drinks, and fantastic service. Atelier has everything you need for a relaxing getaway, with luxurious accommodations that make it easy to unwind after a busy day in paradise.

Atmosphere

Atelier Playa Mujeres is an adults-only resort with a contemporary, tropical vibe. Despite having 593 suites, Atelier still perfectly encapsulates a boutique resort's intimate feeling. The interiors are modern, emphasizing natural light, openness, and natural materials. The resort has an overall laid-back feel, but there is plenty to do if you want a more active vacation. The main pool area and beach are both extensive, allowing plenty of space if you want to lounge, swim or enjoy the view.

Overall, Atelier Playa Mujeres is an excellent option for couples looking for a luxury resort that offers plenty of space but still has an intimate feel.

Atelier's suites are designed to reflect the essence of Mexican culture, featuring artwork that highlights its people and traditions. Each suite offers a romantic retreat with beautiful views of the Caribbean, golf course, and lush nature surrounding the resort. All suites feature a luxurious bathroom with two sinks, a tub, and a rain shower with marble accents. Plus, the resort welcomes small dogs and even provides a room service menu for these canine guests!

Atelier offers two types of suite accommodations: standard and Inspira. The luxurious Inspira suites are ideal for a personalized vacation experience and feature world-class service. Inspira suites are intended to provide a more luxurious getaway experience, with exclusive amenities and services only offered to Inspira suite guests.

Exclusive Infinity Pool Access: We loved the rooftop infinity pool at El Cielo Sky Bar, which offers a spectacular view of the ocean. During the day, this area is an exclusive lounge for INSPIRA suite guests and is accessible for all guests in the evening.
Free Fine Dining Experience: The first dinner is free for Inspira guests at the upscale María Dolores by Edgar Nuñez restaurant.
Spa Benefits: Free Hydrotherapy Session at NUUP Spa, which is excellent! We highly recommend you do a hydrotherapy session before a massage appointment.
Butler Service: Butler service is now included for Inspira guests – This service was just rolled out in June 2022 for select Inspira suites.

Service

The service at the Atelier Playa Mujeres Resort is excellent. From the moment you arrive, everyone from the front desk staff to your housekeeper is extremely friendly and helpful. They're also very attentive to special requests, and they'll do their best to make sure you have a great experience. It felt as if they knew exactly what was going on with their guests at all times—the perfect balance between privacy and attentiveness.

Amenities & Experiences

Atelier also has an endless list of amenities and experiences you can take advantage of during your stay. One of the best features of this resort is the complimentary Bali Beds on the beach and by the pool, all first come, first serve. They are super comfortable and perfect for relaxing or reading. They also have plenty of lounge chairs, umbrellas, and towels available throughout the day. The pools at Atelier are also a great place to relax and enjoy the sun.

NUUP Spa is by far my favorite spa I've ever been to! The hydrotherapy pool is amazing and was so soothing after being in the sun all day. The ambiance was so relaxing, and the staff was so friendly. I highly recommend getting a massage – it's worth every penny.

Travel Queen Insider Tip: Sometimes, it's best to schedule treatments at the resort as they'll occasionally offer special promotions.

There are plenty of activities always happening at Atelier. From yoga to water sports, expect a variety of entertainment throughout the day. We especially enjoyed the Rum and Tequila tastings, and we think anyone who visits Atelier should take part! Activities at Atelier don't end just because the sun has set —they continue into the night. The resort offers nightly entertainment, from relaxing art walks to beachfront parties.

Food & Drink

Atelier Playa Mujeres Resort offers a wide variety of restaurants and bars that will satisfy any taste. Our favorite dinner spot was Los Abrazos, which serves delicious grilled meats alongside excellent wines. For lunch, we loved El Suspiro (make sure to get the fish of the day)! The juice bar, which is conveniently located next to the gym, offers fresh juices made from local produce. This is the perfect spot to grab a post-workout protein shake or to rehydrate your body with a delicious smoothie!

In regards to bars, our favorite was El Cielo Sky Bar. If you are not staying in an Inspira Suite, you'll have access to grab a drink in the evening. Highly recommend going before or after dinner!

Overall, the food was uniformly delicious, and it's all included!

Final Thoughts

Our experience at Atelier Playa Mujeres was beyond our expectations. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms were spacious and clean. The beach was amazing - white sand, clear water, and lots of palm trees for shade. There was always something going on at the resort - activities, live music, or dancing in the evening. We loved all the restaurants on the property, especially Los Abrazos for dinner and El Suspiro for lunch.

If we had one complaint, it would be that we couldn't stay longer! Overall, Atelier Playa Mujeres Resort ranks high on our list of favorite all-inclusive resorts in Mexico.
