If you're ready for ultimate relaxation and exploration, you'll want to head to Los Cabos, Mexico. The Cabo San Lucas area is famous for its breathtaking beaches, adorable boutiques, and fun nightlife (it’s one of my top 5 locations for a girl’s getaway for a reason).


What would a vacation be without the perfect accommodation? This past August, I was lucky enough to be invited by Melia Hotels International, which serves local and international clientele, to spend the night at two of their resort properties in Los Cabos. I've already talked about the amenities and benefits of staying at Paradisus Los Cabos, so it's time to explore my experiences at ME Cabo by Melia! 


What can you expect when you book a stay at ME Cabo? Is it better for solo travelers, girl's trips, or romantic getaways? Can you bring your furry friends? Let's find out!

  • Location: ME Cabo is situated on the magical Playa el Medano in Los Cabos (the only swimmable beach in Los Cabos), with direct access to the water and exquisite views of the Cabo San Lucas 'Arco'. This luxury boutique hotel is close to Cabo San Lucas, the famous “El Arco”, downtown Los Cabos, restaurants, nightlife, and the local marina, so it’s the perfect homebase for adventures and excursions.

  • When to go: The best time to visit ME Cabo is between November and April, when the temperatures are ideal (70s-80s) and the hurricane/tropical storm season ends. Avoid crowds and peak season by booking a stay between May and June, the shoulder season with mild weather where you can typically avoid storms.



Atmosphere

ME Cabo describes itself as a lifestyle resort that combines hip and sophisticated, making it a memorable accommodation. Its location certainly helps it stand out from other nearby resorts since guests have incredible views and direct access to the only swimmable beach in Los Cabos during a stay at this resort.


With the hotel's desert gardens, palm trees swaying in the wind, and the inviting ocean nearby, you'll feel like you've uncovered a tropical paradise in Mexico. Beyond the inviting natural elements on the resort premises, the multiple outdoor pools ensure a full, relaxing getaway to recuperate between excursions and nights out on the town.


For added relaxation, ME Cabo offers a KORPO Wellness Experience that focuses on curating the best version of yourself through steam baths, the onsite exercise facility, and spa treatments (such as massages). With yoga and pilates lessons available during your stay, you’ll leave the resort feeling as if your mind and body are totally at ease.


While the resort promotes wellness and rejuvenation, there's plenty to do for those who prefer a more amped-up experience. With a wet bar connected to one of the heated outdoor pools, a rooftop lounge and bar with fun DJ parties on the weekend, and a range of events, including fashion shows, surf weekends, and fireworks on the beach, you'll get your fill of nightlife and entertainment without needing to leave the resort.


Who should book a stay at ME Cabo? While children over three are allowed, this resort is geared more toward adults and those over 18, with amenities such as pool hookah service, multiple bars, international DJs spinning until the early morning hours, and a penchant for spring break parties. With its exciting nightlife and entertainment opportunities, incredible views, and multiple wellness treatments and offerings, it’s ideal for solo travelers, couples, friend groups, girls’ getaways, and honeymooners. This resort is perfect for those who want a new experience each day, whether that be relaxing by the pool or dancing all night. 


Accommodations

ME Cabo includes 169 rooms and suites, which fall into nine different room categories. You can opt for an accommodation with pool or ocean views, ensuring you wake up with stunning views no matter what. Depending on the room or suite you choose, you can enjoy enhanced amenities such as direct pool access, outdoor Whirlpool bathtubs, and airport pickup service. 


During my stay, I had the opportunity to spend the night in a Superior ME+ room, which featured a minimalistic yet sophisticated design spread across an open-concept room and bathroom. With abundant natural light, cozy touches (like CO Bigelow bathroom amenities and soft robes), and a spacious terrace offering stunning ocean and pool views, I almost didn't want to leave the room.


One of my favorite amenities in my room was the rain shower, which helped create an even cozier atmosphere. With the gorgeous views and thoughtful touches, you’ll feel like you’re on a honeymoon with your honey! This room is a great option for couples and solo travelers who want to feel at ease during their stay.

Regardless of which room or suite you stay in, you’ll find abundant amenities and gorgeous views. However, I found the extra amenities included with staying in a ME+ room were well worth it.

What to expect from the other rooms

For those planning a girl's trip, I recommend the Superior Me+ room with double beds. It's spacious enough for three people yet still feels luxurious enough for a getaway. For a small bachelorette trip or girl's getaway, the Studio ME+ Suite is ideal. It can hold up to four adults and includes a separate lounge for additional room to spread out. 


If you’re in the mood for a splurge-worthy trip, the Beyond ME+ Suite with Hot Tub and Terrace is perfect. It can hold up to three adults and features stunning views of “El Arco” from the private terrace. With an outdoor Whirlpool hot tub, sound bar, and room for DJ parties, it’s a great option for groups who want in-suite parties. Out of the available room categories, this is my top choice. 


Restaurants and Bars

Five restaurants and bars onsite mean plenty of cuisine and drink options during your stay at ME Cabo. Each restaurant and bar at the hotel is owned by Grupo Rosanegra, a company specializing in gourmet experiences to ensure top-notch gastronomic encounters. From Mediterranean to Mexican, this resort has its culinary offerings covered. With the variety of food available, even self-declared gastronomes will be excited to explore Me Cabo's food. Here are some more details on each option.



Taboo Beach Club & Restaurant

Perfect for a relaxed lunch or dinner, this poolside eatery serving Mediterranean-inspired cuisine is open from 11 am to 1 am daily. With light options using fresh, local ingredients, it's the ideal spot to enjoy while sunbathing. With a wide variety of items available, I was able to enjoy pasta, steak, seafood, and homemade ice cream during my stay. They also offered fun cocktails, like the Saint Tropez Breeze, crafted with gin and prosecco. The vibe becomes livelier on the weekends with DJs, dancers, and live entertainment near the pool.


Mamazzita

For a delicious dose of Mexican eats, stop by Mamazzita, a restaurant offering breakfast and dinner options with a DJ spinning tunes daily and live music on the weekends. Among the must-tries here are the enchiladas, fresh squeezed orange juice, and steak chilaquiles. If you opt for the breakfast package, you’ll have the option to choose dishes from a select menu each morning. 


Funky Geisha

Explore Asian culture while enjoying sea views from the Funky Geisha, an Asian fusion restaurant focusing on Asian street food and craft drinks. It’s open 11 am to 1 am daily but is best for a night out when you can enjoy shows while dining on beachside Asian fare.


Tamara

Craving seafood while in Mexico? Tamara is the must-try lunch spot at the resort. Each dish is crafted with local ingredients by the restaurant chef, with delicious options like ceviche and seafood tapas. With its location right on the beach, this restaurant offers a cool, boho atmosphere for guests.


Craft – Open Fire Kitchen

For the best views, head to Craft, a farm-to-table restaurant famous for its steak options. This newly opened eatery allows you to indulge in a rooftop dinner with incredible views of the sea and the Arch of Cabo San Lucas. I recommend dining at Craft right before sunset for a magical dining experience.


Amenities & Experiences

Beyond the amenities mentioned for ME+ guests, ME Cabo features quite a few experiences and amenities for any guest to enjoy. With options like a nightly turn-down service, 24/7 room service, a winter lobby fire pit, and hookah service, there's truly something for everyone here.



Activities

Unlike typical resorts, you won't find volleyball or pool games here. Instead, you'll get to experience a truly unconventional resort. Swim or lounge (extra cost for beach chairs) at the beach, enjoy the heated pool (closed to the public) or the Taboo Pool, listen to live music, watch fireworks on the beach, and more. There's so much to do; you'll never get bored, even if you're traveling solo!


Wellness

Whether you prefer a trip to the spa for treatments or a heart-pumping gym session at the 24/7 fitness center, you'll have the option for both while staying at ME Cabo. With an on-staff doctor available daily, you'll leave the resort refreshed and rejuvenated. 


Events

From international DJs to live singers, fashion shows, and surf weekends, ME Cabo has it all! If you want to primarily stay at the resort instead of exploring the downtown Cabo area, you'll find plenty to keep you busy regardless of when you visit. These events make it easier to meet new people, a bonus for solo travelers and extroverted friend groups.


Final Thoughts About ME Cabo Hotel

After my stay at ME Cabo, I’d consider this one of the top accommodations for travelers who prefer to stay busy on their trip. Whether your version of busy looks like booking spa treatments, exploring resort amenities, trying new cuisine, enjoying live music, or partying near the pool, ME Cabo will not disappoint! Regardless of who you travel with (your girls, boo, or by yourself), you’ll want to keep returning to this resort annually.
