The resort goes big when it comes to its many luxe amenities. On top of that, vacationers get access to one of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico (don’t just take our word for it, it’s earned this title several times!). Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera really does feel like a five-star slice of heaven!

From the moment you arrive, you’ll be surprised by the incredible attention to detail. Throughout the hotel, guests will find private, secluded nooks to relax and fully recharge. With 500 acres of jaw-dropping beachfront property, lush gardens, and impressive open-air architecture, Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera is the perfect place for travelers who enjoy the finer things in life.

Accommodations

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera is an all-suite resort, meaning you can expect a truly premium experience from check-in to check-out. 

Depending on the room you choose, you’ll wake up to the breathtaking views of the crystal-clear Caribbean or the surrounding tropical gardens. With elegant decor, full Italian marble bathrooms, and luxurious linens that will make you feel like you’re sleeping on a cloud, you may find yourself wishing your stay could last forever.

All Junior Suites in the hotel have a separate sitting area, a terrace or balcony (perfect for enjoying romantic sunsets), and a luxurious bath area with a hot tub for two. If you opt for the Swim-Out suite, you can start your mornings with a fresh dip straight from your room.

While every suite at the resort is spectacular, the Preferred Club offers a new level of premium. For example, the Preferred Club Honeymoon Suite is spacious and airy, with superb panoramic oceanfront views and a spa-style bathroom. It is the kind of place where time slows down, just for the two of you. During my stay, I was lucky to have the Preferred Club Junior Suite Ocean View, and I can say it was incredible!

For something truly unforgettable, guests can choose the Preferred Club Governor Suite Swim-Out with direct access to a tranquil pool and a separate living area for even more room to unwind. Meanwhile, the Presidential Suite Swim-Out is the resort's crown jewel: 1,800+ square feet of indulgence, including a dining area, a walk-in closet, a private plunge pool, and some of the best ocean views on property.

When you book a stay as a Preferred Club guest, you don’t just get access to the most luxurious suites. You can also take advantage of a more personalized resort experience, with exclusive benefits beyond the standard all-inclusive offerings. I especially enjoyed these amenities:

Restaurants and Bars

Mexico is best described as a culinary wonderland. And while Cancun might not be the first place that comes to mind for food lovers, this pearl of a city on the Yucatan Peninsula has plenty of amazing places to sample delicious dishes. When you throw in the sumptuous Caribbean views, you’ve got the recipe for pure happiness!

As you can expect, dining in Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera is equally impressive as all the rest of the resort’s offerings. 

Portofino: On every vacation, there comes a point when an Italian dinner is a must. Portofino offers delicious Italian à la carte cuisine (and a gorgeous wine cellar to match). I especially loved the beef carpaccio, lasagna Bolognese, and cannelloni!

Bordeaux: Prefer French cuisine? Bordeaux is a romantic bistro, where you must try the escargot and the exceptional wine list – it’s très magnifique!

El Patio: This colorful Mexican cantina brings the fiesta to your plate. I recommend saving room for mole.

Himitsu: One of the coolest restaurants in the resort, offering bold Asian fusion flavors. The sushi is fresh and creative, but the real star? The veggie fried rice! It’s comforting, flavorful, and addictive.

Oceana: This seafood spot is the best place to enjoy mahi-mahi with a view of the Caribbean. Go barefoot if you’re feeling extra vacation-y.

Seaside Grill: A lovely option for a laid-back poolside lunch or a steak dinner. Grab pizza or a calzone by the pool during the day, then return for a grilled dinner at night.

World Café: The kind of buffet that makes you go back for thirds. Come evening, it offers themed dinners with something new to enjoy each night.

​​Coco Café: An anytime stop for delicious coffee, fresh pastries, and milkshakes (yes, adults too). Try the frozen cappuccino or ask for the house's ‘Coco Café drink.’ You won’t regret it.

Preferred Beach Club (for Club guests only): For lunch, I had the Caesar salad (did you know it was actually invented in Mexico?!) and the glazed salmon with mushroom risotto and roasted veggies. Both were incredible! I also really enjoyed the Rock Lobster experience for dinner. It was a full-course dinner with a live band and dancers, definitely a highlight of my trip!

Bars

In recent years, the bar and cocktail scene in Mexico has grown significantly. At Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun, there are plenty of fantastic (seven, in total) places where you can find a proper pour. 

Order a spicy mango margarita at Barracuda, the resort’s laid-back beach bar. Try the delicious chocolate martini at Desires. Sample a coconut mojito and people-watch from one of the cozy lobby chairs at Rendezvous. As you can see, there are a number of options!

Activities and Entertainment

With everything you could want in one oceanfront destination, Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun is a place you'll never have to leave, unless, of course, for the activities. During your stay, you’ll never run out of things to do, and boredom? That’s simply not part of the itinerary. 

As a guest of the resort, you can:

• Try water activities (snorkeling, catamaran sailing, kayaking through the calm Caribbean waters, paddleboarding, windsurfing, sailing Hobie cats, and more)

One of the highlights of Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun is its 13,000 square feet spa. As if Cancun’s sunshine and natural beauty weren’t enough to rejuvenate you, the resort delivers treatments that make you feel reborn. It’s one of my favorite Secrets spas anywhere.

Start with a visit to the juice bar for fresh fruit and infused waters, then unwind in the hydrotherapy circuit (don’t skip the sauna and steam room – they're divine). Couples massages? Highly recommend.
